Petit Palais
If you love classic French wines, you’ll be in heaven here. Just under an hour away are the Côtes-du-Rhône wine villages that are home to some of the world’s greatest vintages. Tours can take you around the vineyards and wineries of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas and Beaumes-de-Venise. After you’ve stocked up on fine wines, the antiques stores and canal-side cafés of L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue await.
Refined living spaces, inside and out, make Petit Palais a villa for all seasons. The outdoor social areas nestle under a covered terrace, providing a relaxing space for afternoons spent with good wine and good friends. The interior living space has a more cosy, intimate feel and makes good use of some of the older farmhouse's historic features. Dining can be indoors in an inviting, open-plan space or al fresco in the garden. The kitchen is sleek and chic, with every appliance you could wish for.
Petit Palais has a host of additional feature rooms, including a games room with a pool table and a seminar room that can also double as an additional lounge area. An indulgent spa room takes care of guests' wellness needs, including a six-seater jacuzzi and an electric massage table for soothing tired muscles.
The fabulous bedrooms are divided between the 19th-century part of the villa and the older, characterful 18th-century section. On the first floor of the 19th-century wing are three bedrooms, two of which have easy access for guests with mobility issues. They have large, king-size beds and ensuite bathrooms tastefully decorated with plenty of space. A third bedroom is accessible via a spiral staircase and has two single beds and an ensuite. Bedroom four is also reached by climbing a feature spiral staircase and has a king-size bed.
In the older section are five more bedrooms, three of which are accessed by original stone steps. Guests can choose from four king-size beds and a family room with three single beds, and a mezzanine with two more beds for younger guests. Outside, a heated swimming pool is a perfect place to cool off. Wildflower gardens sparkle like jewels in the sunlight, while the surrounding countryside begs to be explored. Petit Palais is a genuine delight that gives you an authentic taste of life in one of France’s most beautiful regions.
