Situated at the very edge of Long Bay Beach (voted one of the top ten beaches in the world by Condé Nast) Villa Shambhala sits on over two acres of luscious, tranquil grounds and yet is still minutes from shopping, restaurants and nightlife. The delightful town of Grace Bay is just ten minutes away, whilst the airport is only 20 minutes by car.
The villa itself is 7,300 sq ft of classic Barbadian design. It is composed of pockets of privacy all linked together by gorgeous open-air Tuscan galleries. The heart of the villa is the magnificent great room with gleaming alabaster walls, vintage furniture and gorgeous arched French doors with plantation shutters, all crowned by a hand-painted cathedral-like ceiling. A formal dining area seats ten around a handsome table which looks out across ocean views. A cosy alcove is filled with cushioned loveseats, a TV and a selection of media to enjoy.
A separate kitchen is a chef’s dream, with state-of-the-art appliances including a Wolf six-burner stove, a fully integrated Sub Zero fridge, and a Miele dishwasher. Yet the home’s stunning aesthetics are maintained through the granite countertops, tumbled marble backsplashes and custom Guatambu hardwood cabinets from Argentina. Additionally, there is a large entertainment room which spills out to the gardens and provides sofas that convert to queen beds.
The eight bedrooms are delightful spaces of light and air with hand-painted vaulted ceilings, stately French doors and great swathes of white linen set against gorgeous rich woods. Integrated audio systems and romantic lighting allow for each space to be transformed to suit your mood. There are five bedrooms spread across the main villa, two of which are magnificent master suites which boast wall-to-wall plantation shutters and sumptuous bathrooms, including private outdoor showers and capacious tubs to sink into. Two further bedrooms are queen ensuites and face onto the sea for breathtaking views throughout the day. A fifth ensuite bedroom boasting two single beds is located on the lower level, alongside a further living room and a full bathroom.
The final three king bedrooms are located on the upper floor of a separate guest house, alongside an open-plan kitchen and living space and a pretty balcony lounge area complete with an infinity plunge pool. The lower floor of the guesthouse boasts a fantastic bar and games room area with a pool table, golf simulator, table hockey and gym area.
Step outside and admire the grand verandas sweeping their way around Villa Shambhala providing a range of outdoor spaces from the romantic dining area, with a state-of-the-art grill, to the comfy al fresco living area and splendid sparkling pool deck. The wondrous 40 ft infinity pool - with integrated hot tub - seems to reach out to the verdant greenery and crystal ocean waters beyond. With paradise quite literally at your feet, Villa Shambhala certainly lives up to its namesake.
