Wheelchair-accessible, the old, three-floor farmhouse contains several beautifully-decorated living rooms. Some have working fireplaces and all, courtesy of hulking windows, afford more fine vistas. There’s also a grand dining room seating 30, supported by an impressive kitchen – continental breakfasts will be prepared daily, and we can arrange a full-time chef upon requesr. An independent pavilion functions as a cinema, and you also get a gym, a massage room and, to delight stargazers, an astronomical observatory.
Ten of the 14 bedrooms are ensuite queens amid the farmhouse; each has its own distinctive element, such as a Jacuzzi terrace or a lounge. Four more occupy two annexes – with one on its own for total privacy.
Guests with different interests? No problem. Giunia neighbours a forest reserve and stables, allowing for idyllic rural walks or horse-rides. There are great golf courses, pretty walled hilltowns and Val d’Orcia vineyards to inspect locally, while Siena’s bi-annual Palio horse race and Florence’s galleries are in easy day-trip range.
