Nestled in the lush greenery of Peter Bay, yet just a two-minute drive away from some of the North Shore’s finest beaches, Villa Amorosa combines the elegance of a Sicilian villa with the laid-back ambience of a US Virgin Islands retreat. With four bedrooms comfortably sleeping up to eight guests, it’s a delightfully hospitable retreat that ensures peace, quiet and total privacy.
Surrounded by one of St John’s many national parks, Peter Bay is a gated community where seclusion is assured. The white beach is pristine, visited by sea turtles and the occasional villa guest strolling along the shoreline at sunset. Just 15 minutes away is the lively Cruz Beach, where you’ll find restaurants and bars serving the Island’s succulent lobsters, accompanied by exotic cocktails such as a Hibiscus Old Fashioned, made with 8-year-old Bacardi rum.
Step through the arched gateway and you’re immediately surrounded by lush gardens and drawn towards the steps leading to the villa’s entrance. Once inside, you’re immersed in a colourful and mindfully decorated interior that connects effortlessly with the sun-kissed outside living area. Marble accents and a stone-tiled floor give the interior a cool ambience, enlivened with bright textiles and plush furnishings. The great room also includes an intimate dining area that immediately reminds you of a Tuscan villa. Chefs will love the state-of-the-art kitchen, with views across Cinnamon Bay as you whip up a plate of nibbles.
The four bedrooms all feature indulgent king-size beds, with views across the Bay or the flower-filled garden. The décor is serene, complemented by the occasional pop of colour to give the rooms real character. Full ensuites with dual vanity units and deep soak tubs complete the layout.
Outside, a myriad of nooks and corners, shaded by swaying palm trees and cooled by the Bay breeze, give you a place to curl up with a bestseller and a rum cocktail. The large infinity pool beckons for a few early-morning laps, or take a stroll down to the beach for a wild swim in clear blue water. As the sun sets, fire up the BBQ, relax on the upper terrace beneath the stars, and plan the next day’s adventures.
