Take the short drive to Wat Phra Yai, the Big Buddha Island temple. Famous for its 12-metre gold Buddha, the temple also features ornate architecture and quiet spots for contemplation.

Villa Akashi is a tranquil oasis, calm with soft earthy tones and opening seamlessly onto the pretty courtyard. The wooden floored open-plan living space is light and airy, with modern art, rustic wicker touches, and a cosy white sofa. The villa's three ensuite bedrooms nurture rest and relaxation with their neutral colour scheme and ethnic décor touches, each flowing onto the lush outdoor spaces. The bedrooms each feature a king-size bed dressed in crisp white linens and striking ensuites with stone fittings and waterfall showers. The primary bedroom's ensuite benefits from a beautiful terrazzo tub.
