Men’s Fashion Week takes place in New York at the beginning of June – this year, most of the events will be held between the 3rd and the 5th. Expect high style and high drama (the shows are always a spectacle) as leading designers showcase their work.
It’s a great year to go to New York Pride – fifty years after the Stonewall Uprising, it’ll be the biggest celebration yet. As well as the famous Pride March, you’ll be able to attend parties, rallies and lectures throughout the entire month of June.
Glamorous, exciting and quintessentially British, this year’s Royal Ascot runs from June 18th to June 22nd. There’s something thrilling to see on every day of the meeting, and the food – from made-to-order picnics to elegant afternoon teas to fine dining – is wonderful too.
Foodie? You’ve probably already heard of Taste of London, a biannual food festival where you can dine at pop-up restaurants run by world-famous chefs and enjoy tastings and masterclasses too. The June festival takes place between June 19th and June 23rd in beautiful Regent’s Park.
Lucca Summer Festival, one of the biggest in Italy, begins at the end of June with an opening performance from Take That. Big names – from rappers to rock bands – will be performing all through July, so you’re sure to find an event to tempt you.
The Roland Garros Tennis Tournament always draws the biggest names in the game, and takes place this year between May 20th and June 9th. What’s more, since the tournament’s played in the heart of Paris, you can watch superb tennis without leaving the City of Light.
If you love golf, you’ll know that the French Open isn’t to be missed. The oldest national open in continental Europe, this prestigious event is now part of the European Tour, and will take place this year between June 28th and July 1st.
Up for some sunshine, local cuisine and an authentic carnival atmosphere? St. John Festival – a month-long celebration of Caribbean culture centred around a spectacular parade – is for you. The festival begins in early June and ends on Independence Day (July 4th).
The St. Lucia Carnival runs from June to mid-July, ending with a vibrant two-day street parade. Whether you want to hear live music or see colourful costumes, experience Caribbean culture or learn about the region’s history, you can do it all here.
In Jamaica, early June means it’s time for the historic Ocho Rios Jazz Festival. This year, the theme is ‘Return of Women in Jazz’, and there are so many vibrant events planned – everything from jam sessions to music seminars – that there’ll be something for every music lover.
