Favorite Caribbean Regattas
Sun, sand, sea – and sailing. It’s no wonder that the Caribbean with its idyllic islands, is known for its regattas. We’ve picked out our favorites, all events that’ll tempt old hands and newcomers alike.
St Barts Regatta
The St. Barts Regatta – Les Voiles de St. Barth – began in 2010, and is the culmination of this exquisite island’s distinguished boat racing history. The event is now one of the most prestigious races in the Caribbean, and given the surrounds – St. Barts is famous firstly for its beautiful scenery and beaches, but secondly for its upscale restaurants and shops – that’s no surprise.
Fancy living the high life? We have some stunning St. Barts homes where you can do just that.
Antigua Bermuda Regatta - get involved
Antigua Sailing Week is the longest-running regatta event in the Caribbean, dating back to 1968. This event allows spectators the opportunity to do some sailing themselves by signing up for a team training day – on the historied Volvo 60, no less. Sailing Week is followed by the Antigua Bermuda Race, in which a distinguished fleet from across the globe will compete.
If you’re keen on a hands-on regatta experience, we have homes in the heart of Antigua where you can stay close to the action.
Golden Rock Regatta
The Golden Rock Regatta has something for everyone – from beginners to Olympians – with seven events over five days. Competitors race from island to island, taking in gorgeous sights (the cerulean waters of St. Barts, the white shores of Anguilla). If you prefer to stay on dry land, you might enjoy the lively street festival that takes place on St. Eustatius.
