Paris in spring and summer
Spring’s the time to take a trip to Paris. This vibrant season brings longer days, greener city scenes and a flurry of events – everything from art fairs to tennis tournaments. And if you’re looking for somewhere memorable to stay, we have beautiful, characterful onefinestay homes within easy reach of the best events of the spring.
Printemps des Rues Street Art Fair
In May, Canal Saint-Martin – an up-and-coming area known for its hip, creative vibe – plays host to street artists of all kinds. There’s something for everyone at Printemps des Rues, from theatre to puppet shows, circus acts to dancers. The acts perform along the banks of the famous canal – and every show is completely free.
Want to be right nearby? Quai d'Orléans – a poised home made remarkable firstly by its design and secondly by its views – is within walking distance.
Roland Garros Tennis Tournament
For 126 years, tennis stars have come to Paris to play at the Roland Garros Tennis Tournament, which runs from the end of May to the beginning of June. With the biggest names in tennis taking to the court every year, it’s no wonder sports fans still flock to this historied event.
It’s easy to get from the Stade de Roland-Garros to Avenue Kléber II – a calm, elegant home that’s the perfect place to relax after a day at the tennis.
Théâtre de Verdure du Jardin Shakespeare
Like the idea of watching Shakepeare outdoors, on a green lawn surrounded by the trees and plants mentioned in his plays? At the Théâtre de Verdure du Jardin Shakespeare – an open-air theatre tucked away in Paris’ Bois de Boulogne – you can do just that. This June, the Tower Theatre Company will be performing The Merry Wives of Windsor.
Prix de Diane
On June 16th, the Prix de Diane will be taking place at Chantilly Racecourse, which is just outside of Paris. As well as the race itself – always a spectacle – you can enjoy the fashions (female racegoers compete for the Mademoiselle Diane prize), a free concert and a picnic.
Fancy a Paris hideaway to come home to afterwards? We love Rue Barbet de Jouy V – a very centrally situated home that’s decorated in a classic Parisian style.
