We love crisp mountain air, freshly fallen powder, the thrill of the slopes (and a little après-ski), so we’ve checked out which ski spots are trending this winter. Don’t forget, our Concierge team are ready to organise all your ski accoutrements, from equipment and lessons to private chefs for post-slope feasts.
The medieval heart of Megève has all the off-slope trimmings the well-heeled skier demands – think Michelin starred restaurants like Le Vieux Megève, high-end boutiques and galleries, dazzling Mont Blanc views, and an international jazz festival. In fact, many don’t even come for the skiing – they come for Megève’s upscale attractions. And, with its own airport, you can be enjoying those attractions even sooner.

For pure luxury
A reputation for understated luxury and discreet service means Gstaad’s slopes are often graced by famous faces (we’re talking A-listers like George Clooney and Madonna). Its chalet-strung promenade may feature the likes of Ralph Lauren and Hermès, but it still has an authentic Alpine feel. Gstaad’s snow sports are also well-respected, thanks to its huge ski pass area, covering 200km of slopes, and unique Snowpark Glacier 3000 ski zone.

For off-peak skiing
The ski season’s painfully short for most ardent snow fans – but those in the know head to Verbier, where the high altitude often means you can still be on the slopes long after the snow has melted elsewhere. A magnet for expert skiers (excited by the off-piste runs of 4 Valleys’ main resort), Verbier caters to the novice too. And, whatever your level, you can kick off your ski boots at Le Mouton Noir, where magnums of champagne come paired with mountain views.

For olympians (and beginners)
It may have welcomed the skiers of the 2002 Winter Olympics in the USA, but Deer Valley has become the go-to resort for skiers-in-training. With no snowboarders on the slopes to get in your path, virtually queue-free lifts, and one of the nation’s biggest ski schools, you can simply focus on becoming the next Bode Miller, before rewarding your success with the AAA-Four Diamond dining of Goldener Hirsch Inn.
