Located in the private resort of Peninsula Papagayo is this stunning seven-bedroomed villa that welcomes up to 12 guests. With plenty of character and an interior that's tastefully filled with pops of colour, it's an opulent, restful villa that's ideal for a special family celebration or get-together.

The Peninsula Papagayo is all about indulgent relaxation. A short distance from the villa is the exclusive Prieta Beach Club, where you can pamper yourself with spa treatments and massage in a tropical paradise, with the sound of the ocean to soothe you. Younger guests will love the variety of activities available, including mountain biking, snorkelling and nighttime canoeing to see the incredible bioluminescence that lights up the ocean. Tours and guided hikes take you deep into the jungle, where you may even be lucky enough to get a fleeting glimpse of an elusive jaguar.

Casa Armadillo captures that lively, bold spirit of Costa Rica and refines it into a charming villa with plenty of personality. The social areas blend seamlessly from indoors to outside, inviting guests to mingle and enjoy the warm ocean breeze. The refined indoor dining room is custom-made for formal meals with all the trimmings, or go al fresco on the terrace for million-star dining. The kitchen is fitted with the latest equipment, making it a chef's dream and the perfect place to rustle up a plate of nibbles and some cocktails.

The bedrooms are delightful, with unique colourways and bespoke décor that gives them a real boutique feel. The primary suite has a sumptuous king-size bed and elegant ensuite, as well as a private patio for that early-morning coffee. The remaining six bedrooms are divided into a further king-size bedroom, two cosy queen-size bedrooms, and a double twin bedroom that's suitable for younger guests. Two single bedrooms complete the layout.

Outside, the primary terrace is dominated by a sparkling pool, with a second pool on the terrace below, surrounded by a sweeping arched sun terrace with magnificent ocean views. Outdoor living spaces provide you with plenty of places to unwind in the afternoon sun. With fine dining and many activities on your doorstep, Casa Armadillo is a Costa Rican gem where privacy is guaranteed.

We had a wonderful experience with onefinestay. The house was beautiful, super clean, and well equipped. Our concierge, Hazel, was very helpful with setting up chef services, excursions and always very responsive with questions, restaurant requests, etc. We would definitely use onefinestay again.
