Florence is arguably one of the prettiest cities in Italy, with architectural treasures such as the Giotto Bell Tower and Florence Cathedral, complete with awe-inspiring frescoes. Admire works by Titian, Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci at the Uffizi Museum, then for a change of gear, visit the bustling San Lorenzo Market for a fun and diverse shopping experience. Savour an extraordinary variety of classic and modern Italian restaurants – where the classic bistecca alla fiorentina must be sampled. Villa Alighieri also lies close to the hilltop town of Fiesole, where you can explore Roman remains and hike to a monastery for stunning views across to Florence.

Antique furniture, carefully restored period features, and hand-painted murals make Villa Alighieri a glorious space for a large group. With two living spaces, a breakfast room, and a dining room, you can entertain with ease. The well-equipped, spacious kitchen ensures you can rustle up large meals, which your group will adore being served out on the covered veranda.

The five ensuite bedrooms are air-conditioned, and each features a double bed. One of the bedrooms can be converted to two twin beds – ideal for children in your group. The sumptuous bedrooms feature lavish décor and drapery and are resplendent with spa-style bathrooms.

The grounds of this historic villa are the jewel in the crown, with impressively landscaped gardens in the traditional Italian style, with clipped hedging, cypress and pine trees, and beautiful hydrangeas. Guests can enjoy a glass of wine on the impressive terrace or in the shade of the pretty gazebo. Relax in the jacuzzi or lose yourself wandering through the fragrant grounds.
