This beautiful villa, surrounded by sublime tropical scenery, is a graceful retreat south of the bustling town of Tamarindo, with endless, powder-soft sandy beaches and clear blue water close by.

Tamarindo started life as a small fishing village but has grown to become one of Costa Rica's most prestigious destinations. While most visitors will head immediately for Playa Tamarindo (which at 3.5km long, has enough room for everyone), a thrilling alternative is a zip-line canopy tour that sends you whizzing high above the jungle treetops. Your dedicated concierge can arrange bookings with adventure operators offering this once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Step through the signature solid wooden gate, and you're immediately transported into a private courtyard filled with banana trees and a crystal-blue pool. Inside, the bright and spacious living areas are filled with little personal touches that give it real character. The real showstopper is the brilliant yellow and black tiled flooring, harmonised with teal blue furniture for a burst of colour. The open-plan design takes you effortlessly from the social areas to the fully-equipped kitchen - just the place to whip up a few cocktails to sip while you lounge in a hammock all afternoon. If you prefer al fresco dining, a poolside BBQ and outdoor dining area are ideal for less formal gatherings.

The bedrooms follow the same boutique style as the rest of the villa, each decorated uniquely. The two primary suites both boast indulgent king-size beds. The lower floor suite has a delightful covered terrace, while the upper floor suite has a private balcony. Both have enchanting ensuites, and an outdoor shower lets you sink your toes into a grass carpet while you shower under the morning sun. The third room has a single over-double bunk bed that would be ideal for younger guests, and additional sleeping arrangements include a Murphy bed to accommodate additional guests.

Outside, a shimmering pool invites you to dive in and cool off, or you can wild swim at the beach just a short distance away. Your concierge can arrange for equipment such as surfboards and paddleboards so you can make the most of the natural wonders that surround you.
