After check-out, the team check everything has been left in working order and places the homeowner's belongings back exactly as they were left, so the homeowner arrives back to a perfectly clean and tidy home.

Here we speak to Nyamaa, our Housekeeping Supervisor in London, about her passion for hospitality, the destinations she can't get enough of and some of the top local spots she's uncovered along the way.

Tell us a bit about your background, where did you grow up?

I was born and raised in Mongolia, a country where the traditional nomadic lifestyle and modern city life exist side by side. Until I finished high school, I lived in the countryside, surrounded by nature and a strong sense of community. Later, I moved to the city for university and stayed to build my career. From a young age, I learned to appreciate the deep connection between people and nature, and I was always inspired by the warmth and hospitality of rural life. When my husband decided to study in the UK, we moved here together as a family. This new chapter has given me the chance to experience a different culture, meet people from around the world, and grow both personally and professionally.

What drew you to your role at onefinestay?

I have always felt drawn to the hospitality industry, especially the 'property' side of the business. Throughout my career, I have worked in a variety of hospitality and property roles, including organising theatre performances and events and helping manage my family's property rentals business back in Mongolia. Working for onefinestay has been a great way to combine my love for hospitality and beautiful homes.

What’s your favourite thing about the job?

I love the incredible experiences we are able to offer our guests. onefinestay guests have the opportunity to travel and relax in  London while enjoying the comfort of a home-like environment, where they can prepare and enjoy their favourite meals. They are also able to spend quality time with family and friends in a warm and welcoming setting. I believe that our product sets us apart from other competitors and offers our guests an experience they will not find elsewhere. Providing such great experiences to every guest is something I am proud to be part of every day.

What makes a place feel like home to you?

A place feels like home when it’s filled with welcoming sights, sounds, and scents—where beautiful things live, where routines bring comfort, and where the people I love surround me. It’s a space that reflects who I am, where I feel safe to be myself, free from judgment, and connected to something meaningful. Whether it’s quiet solitude or shared laughter, home is where my heart feels most at ease.

Tell us about the best holiday you’ve ever been on.

The best holiday I’ve ever been on was a trip to France. I started in Paris, and it honestly felt magical—walking along the Seine, seeing the Eiffel Tower sparkle at night, and getting lost in little side streets full of boulangeries and boutiques. I loved just sitting at cafés with a coffee and croissant, watching the world go by. After that, I headed to the Mont Saint-Michel. The island looked like a fairytale castle rising from the sea. I walked through narrow old streets and visited the beautiful abbey. The view of the changing tides was amazing. It was peaceful, magical, and full of history. I’ll never forget it.

Share a few of your favourite places in London

  • Hyde Park – it’s the perfect escape from the busy city. Whether you’re walking, renting a paddle boat on the Serpentine, or just relaxing under a tree, it’s peaceful and beautiful year-round.
  • Camden Market – Full of energy and creativity, Camden is great for unique street food, vintage clothes, and discovering local artists. There's always something unexpected around the corner.
  • The British Museum – I never get tired of it. You can explore thousands of years of history all under one roof, and no matter how many times you visit, you can always discover something new.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?

If I could live anywhere in the world, it would probably be somewhere that balances natural beauty with culture and comfort, like Kyoto, Japan. It has a peaceful rhythm, deep traditions, stunning seasonal changes, and a mix of old-world charm and modern convenience. Plus, I love the food and the sense of quiet respect in daily life.

Three things you’d take to a desert island with you.

If I were stranded on a desert island, I’d bring a good book to keep myself entertained, a solar-powered charger to stay connected and enjoy some music or podcasts, and a journal with a pen to document my thoughts and experiences. These three things would help me stay mentally stimulated, connected, and reflective while I wait for rescue... Who knows, maybe I'd even start to enjoy the solitude.

Finally, where next? What are your travel plans for this year?

This year, I'm planning to travel to Italy and Hungary, two places that have been on my bucket list for a long time. I can't wait to explore Rome’s ancient history, enjoy authentic local food in Florence, and take in the beauty of the Amalfi Coast. After that, I plan to visit Hungary, where I’m looking forward to soaking in the thermal baths of Budapest, walking along the Danube, and experiencing the unique blend of Eastern and Western European culture. It’s going to be a perfect mix of history, food, and relaxation!
