As the winter draws to a close, Miami springs into action with all manner of fairs and festivals for the culturally inclined. Foodies, music lovers and art aficionados from all over the world flock to the city to admire the splendid sights on offer (and that’s just the scenery). Miami is the perfect place to dip your toes in the art world – and in the sea. Want to know what’s happening? Take a look at a few of our favourites from this year’s lineup of events.
Coconut Grove Art Festival
18th - 20th February
Over the President’s Day weekend, Coconut Grove’s gorgeous waterfront is home to a coming together of artists, musicians and foodies. It’s an accessible and easygoing way to soothe your cultural cravings.
South Beach Wine & Food Festival
22nd - 26th February
Spread along the beach (as the name suggests), this festival is the place to go for all things tasty. From artisanal spirits to kosher barbecue, wine seminars to children’s cooking classes – the full gamut of culinary culture is here.
Miami Film Festival
3rd - 12th March
Miami’s very own celebration of the silver screen – here you’ll find cinema classics and films from up-and-coming directors playing in a mix of state-of-the-art cinemas and authentic Art Deco picturehouses around the city.
Calle Ocho Festival
20th March
Centred around the heart of Little Havana, the Calle Ocho Festival is Miami’s biggest party (the festival once held the world record for the longest conga line). It’s not all about the parades – you’ll also find fantastic street food from across Latin America.
