The French capital is a place like no other. Bursting with history, culture, fashion, food, and elegant homes, Paris is a melting pot of cultures, a birthplace of revolutions and home to some of the finest restaurants in the world. Although the iconic sights - such as the Eiffel Tower, La Basilique du Sacré-Cœur and the Musée du Louvre - are wonderful, scratch beneath the surface, and you'll find there’s so much more to this charming, energetic city.

Spanning 20 unique arrondissements, or neighbourhoods, each part of the city has a distinct character and personality. Our luxury apartments and vacation rentals in Paris are spread across the city, meaning you can choose the neighbourhood that suits you best. Rub shoulders with the capital’s chicest inhabitants in the designer boutiques lining Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, just steps away from some of our best serviced apartments in Paris. Wander along the Promenade Plantée (which follows the old tracks of the Vincennes Railway Line) on a sunny afternoon. Or simply sip an espresso on a sun-kissed terrace in Le Marais, watching as the world goes by. The real beating heart of Paris is to be found on its streets.

Scale the steep slopes of Montmartre, dive into Bellville’s monthly street food market or browse the goods at Les Puces de Paris Saint-Ouen (the world’s biggest antique market). Stroll down to Le Canal St Martin in time for apéro (the classic French tradition of pre-dinner drinks) before returning to your luxury flat in Paris as the sun sinks behind the Eiffel Tower. With an endless array of pop-up events, expositions, artisanal markets and - of course - food and drink hotspots, our homes in Paris invite you to discover a whole new world of culture and cuisine.

Things you can’t miss in Paris
  • Treat yourself to some of the local sweet treats in a pâtisserie (éclairs, macarons and chou à la crème are just a few of our favourites).
  • Leave some room in your suitcase to shop your way through iconic Parisian department stores, La Samaritaine and Le Bon Marché.
  • Discover Parisian culture by attending one of the city’s various shows - whether at the Opéra Garnier, the Philharmonie de Paris or the Accor Arena, just a short distance from our luxury apartments in Paris.

Our insider tips for Paris

“The scent of fresh bread in the morning, the gentle breeze as you cycle along the Seine, the sound of chatter and clinking glasses floating down from the café terraces... Paris captures the imagination and delights the senses unlike anywhere else in the world.”

Best time to go

  • During spring: Paris in the spring is so famous they wrote a song about it. The city's parks and boulevards are full of cherry blossoms. The temperatures can range from a chilly 5°C (41°F) in early March through to a balmy 20°C (68°F) in May. If you encounter rain showers, they are usually brief, and with so many museums and galleries to explore, there is always somewhere to shelter until the rain stops.

  • During summer: If you book one of our Paris luxury apartment rentals in the summer, expect to see plenty of visitors, especially at the main attractions such as the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre. A short stroll through the back streets takes you well away from the crowds and into the real Paris. Temperatures can soar up to 30°C during August when you'll find that the streets are often a little quieter because of the annual French holiday period.

  • During autumn: This season brings a surge of colour to the parks as the leaves turn to shades of gold, amber and red. The city will still be busy, though, as Paris is a year-round destination. Autumn is the most popular time for long weekend breaks and city getaways, and there are plenty of Paris vacation rentals on offer. The quietest period is November, just after the French autumn school holidays and before the bustle of Christmas.

  • During winter: Paris' winter attractions include Christmas markets and festivities. The temperature doesn't drop as low as in other European capitals, hovering around 7-8°C (45-46°F) during the day. You will still need to pack a jumper or two if you're visiting Paris in the winter, as the evenings can be chilly. A turn on one of the many skating rinks that pop up during winter is a great way to warm up and a perfect excuse for a creamy hot chocolate afterwards in one of the city's cafés.

How to get there

Make the journey as memorable as the arrival. Your dedicated concierge can arrange transportation from the closest airport or train station to your Paris rental apartment.

By plane

Paris has three international airports, of which Charles De Gaulle is the largest and where most international flights land. The other airports are Orly International Airport to the city's southwest and Beauvais Airport to the north. Your dedicated concierge can arrange a VIP transfer to your luxury vacation apartment in Paris or ensure your hire car awaits you on arrival.

By train

Paris is a major destination for the Eurostar, which arrives at Gare du Nord. There are six major train stations spread across the city, meaning that you’re never far from a station at any of our Paris rentals. Getting around the city and to and from stations is easy, thanks to the Metro system. For travel between European countries, the SNCF network connects Paris with Belgium, Italy, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Germany. National connections cover the whole of France, from the French Riviera to Normandy and beyond. The Orient Express is perhaps the ultimate indulgence for travellers who want to head to Venice after staying at one of our Paris vacation rentals.

By car

The French road network is well laid out, and a large ring road encircles Paris, providing you with access to the suburbs as well as the city centre. Parking is charged at a premium, especially close to the major monuments and attractions. If your luxury rental in Paris is in the centre of the city, a better way to travel around is by Metro or taxi.

Local tips

  • Always check opening times, especially for restaurants and shops, as they may close during the afternoon or on Sundays/Mondays. Dining out in Paris is a must, and the best restaurants fill up fast so make sure to book them well in advance.
  • If you do not want to climb up the 237 stairs leading to the famous Sacré-Cœur, you can use the funicular, which takes less than two minutes and is the price of a Metro ticket.
  • If you choose to take advantage of the Metro buy a Navigo card instead of individual tickets - it is much more convenient, and you don't have to keep track of dozens of paper tickets.

FAQs

How far in advance should I book a vacation rental in Paris?
chevron

Our advice is to book as far in advance as possible, particularly during the summer months and during major sporting events, such as the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympics or any annual events. For example, apartments in and around the 12th Arrondissement are very popular with tennis fans during the Paris Masters in November. So if you want a Paris apartment close to the AccorHotels Arena during this time, you’ll need to book much earlier in the year. Use the ‘Availability’ button on the right-hand side of the page to find out when your chosen home is free. Last-minute bookings are possible, but we advise you to book ahead as far as possible to ensure you secure the home you want.
