French villas

The perfect stay in France

France really does have it all – sun-kissed Mediterranean beaches, Medieval hamlets nestled among rolling vineyards, snowcapped mountains, and cosmopolitan cities with pockets of historic charm. Our luxury French villas and vacation rentals are handpicked to offer you a holiday infused with the true essence of la belle vie, whether you're looking to savour the high life in Paris or relax on a quiet cove in Provence.

One of Europe's most popular destinations, France has all the ingredients for an unforgettable holiday. Few places boast such a fine gastronomic reputation, and our French villas place you close to farm-to-plate restaurants, outdoor food markets, and artisanal producers. Wine lovers can head to a villa in enchanting Provence or Cote d’Azur, visiting prestigious wineries for tasting sessions with a sommelier. Meanwhile, gourmands should make tracks for the country’s capital, where they can sample an incredible array of world-class restaurants.

A country of joyful contrast, you can relish a morning shopping in the chic boutiques of Paris then spend the afternoon admiring the sun-baked architecture of a sleepy village, playing a slow game of boules with the locals outside a little café. Families are drawn to the delightful French coast, where traditional red and white parasols still brighten the shore and children play happily in the rockpools and warm summer sea.

Things you can't miss in France
  • Set off on an exclusive tour of the world’s finest Champagne houses - an easy day trip from Paris.
  • Charter a boat tour around Provence’s Calanques, a dramatic stretch of coastline, hiding sandy and pebbly coves among rugged rocky inlets.
  • Discover the ultimate boutique shopping experience on Cannes’ Rue d’Antibes.

Our insider tips for France

“Spending time in France has taught me to slow down and enjoy the simple things in life. Here, drinking a rich wine paired with an incredible cheese from the local fromagerie can be just as mindblowing as a meal in a gastronomic restaurant.”

When to visit

  • Spring – What could be more romantic than France in spring, as the blossoms emerge and the mountainsides become fragrant with wildflowers? Though spring can start cool, by the end of May, temperatures reach a pleasant 21°C/69.8°F. Now is the time for outdoor pursuits, before the dry heat of summer kicks in. Spring is the start of the bountiful French harvest, so expect markets to be heaving with lovely fresh produce later on in the season.

  • Summer- Prepare to soak up the Mediterranean sun, with temperatures often exceeding 30°C/86°F. Whether you're opting for a beachfront villa on the golden coast or a rural retreat among the fragrant lavender fields, the dreamy summer weather perfectly showcases the inspirational French landscape and architecture. Summer brings a wealth of cultural and musical festivals across the country, including Bastille Day on July 14.

  • Autumn – As the temperatures drop in September to 10°C/50°F, autumn in France invites blissfully long bike rides through winding countryside lanes, passing roadside stalls selling freshly picked chestnuts, apples, and pears. City breaks will be quieter now, with cafés and restaurants celebrating the autumnal flavours with plenty of nuts, rich chocolates, and spices featured on the menus.

  • Winter – Though the temperature may fail to climb above 12°C/53.6°F over the French winter, there is plenty to warm your heart. The festive season in Paris is a mulled-wine scented affair, with the twinkling Christmas Village at Les Halles selling roasted chestnuts and artisanal arts and crafts gifts. Spend a frosty week in Provence, enjoying strolls through the ethereal stillness of the winter countryside before snuggling by a crackling fire back at your villa with a steaming bowl of cassoulet.

How to get there

Make the journey as memorable as the arrival. Your dedicated concierge can arrange transportation from the closest airport or train station to your France holiday rental home.

By plane

Whether you’re taking a chartered flight or entering France by private jet, the country is well served with international airports, including Paris, Nice Côte d'Azur Airport, and Marseille Provence Airport. Your concierge can pre-arrange a car rental or VIP transfer to ensure the final leg of your journey to your luxury French villa or home runs smoothly.

By train

It couldn’t be easier to enter France by train using the Eurostar or LeShuttle to reach Paris from the UK and an array of other European cities. The rail network in France is superb – ideal for leisurely train rides along the coast, inland to visit wineries or day trips from Paris.

By car

Crossing the Channel with your car from the UK is a breeze with both the ferry and LeShuttle (Eurotunnel) options available. Hop onto the toll-paying autoroutes for the most efficient and stress-free car journeys across France. Or take things a little slower, choosing a scenic route through the lush countryside, planned by your dedicated concierge.

Local Tips

  • The locals will greatly appreciate your efforts to speak French. Brush up on the basic key phrases before you leave, and install a translation app on your phone.
  • To stock your villa with the best produce, visit the weekly local markets. A tradition going back centuries, these vibrant stalls offer seasonal products, bursting with flavour.
  • Tipping isn’t mandatory in the French service industry... but feel free to leave a few euros to acknowledge great service.
