Nestled at the foot of the Luberon Hills on the expansive Mas des Infermières winery estate, Villa Gris is an enchanting three-bedroom villa owned by Ridley Scott and his family. Welcoming up to six guests, this charming retreat is part of a complex of three villas, offering a balance between connection to other guests and the privacy of your own secluded sanctuary, all set within truly spectacular landscapes.

Villa Gris provides a delightful escape in the glorious French countryside and is a short distance from the charming and tranquil village of Oppède-le-Vieux. If you want to escape the hustle and bustle of more 'touristy' locations, this tumbling village clinging to a precipice at the foot of the Luberon Hills is the place to go. Time seems to have stood still here, and cobbled streets wind their way through whitewashed houses and into the main square, where you'll find the town's ancient market hall. Expect an uphill walk to get into the centre of the village from the parking area, but it gives you a wonderful opportunity to stop and admire the extraordinary views on the way.

Villa Gris captures much of the raw spirit of Provence and enhances it with contemporary motifs to create warm, welcoming interiors complemented by serene gardens and sun terraces. The living areas are spacious and bright, using many of the building's original features and adding to them with modern furnishings and artwork. The kitchen is sublime, filled with every appliance you could wish for to create anything from a light breakfast to a full family meal.

Three king bedrooms feature soothing, gentle tones with floaty white curtains and large windows that let the soft Provence breeze cool the room. Ensuites are finished to an exceptional standard with superior quality fixtures and indulgent soak tubs.

Outside, the terraces are lined with terracotta tiles to give them a warm, almost sensuous feeling, coupled with dappled shade provided by parasols. A heated pool tempts you for morning laps or an afternoon dip before opening a bottle of the estate's wine as the sun sinks behind the mountains. Villa Gris is everything you could wish for in a Provence retreat and so much more.
