The perfect stay
in Los Angeles, California
The City of Angels is, quite simply, extraordinary. From Hollywood glamour to laid-back hippy beaches, desert highways and urban excitement, it is a rollercoaster of experiences. La La Land is tucked away between rolling hills, nature reserves and long white sand beaches. Secret stairways take you up through mid-century modern homes and away from the usual tourist trails. And there’s no doubt that LA is the place for the best Mexican food outside of Mexico. Tempted? Our vacation home rentals in Los Angeles give you the chance to live the dream for yourself. With so much to explore, why not stay longer at one of our Los Angeles monthly vacation rentals.
If you’re starstruck, you’re in the right place. No matter what neighbourhood your Los Angeles villa rental is in, expect to see film crews on the streets shooting scenes for the latest blockbuster. If you’re lucky, you may even get asked to be a background extra! There’s plenty of culture on offer at the Getty Center. Or find your inner hippy at a Los Angeles beach house rental in nearby Venice. Here, you’ll find a long boardwalk to roller-skate on, plenty of space for beach-front yoga and local farm-to-table restaurants to grab a fresh bite. If you’re a food lover, you’ve got Michelin-starred restaurants galore, authentic Korean and Mexican food, and more vegan restaurants than anywhere else in the USA. Or escape the concrete and steel and search for tide pools at Abalone Cove Beach in Palos Verdes for a reminder of California’s unspoilt natural beauty.

Popular destinations in Los Angeles
Hollywood Hills, home of the stars
Sitting high above the city streets of LA, Hollywood Hills is a neighbourhood that offers the very finest in A-list living. It straddles the Cahuenga Pass in the Santa Monica Mountains and is close to major attractions such as Studio City, the Hollywood Sign, and the Hollywood Bowl. This secluded hilltop community is filled with the best mansions for rent in Los Angeles. It’s home to many film stars, as well as key landmarks, including the Griffith Observatory. Affluent, aspirational, and safe, this part of LA is the home of the stars but still manages to keep a strong sense of community.
West Hollywood, lively and vibrant
If Los Angeles is a melting pot, then West Hollywood is the hottest part of the mix. Cute little tree-lined, apartment-riddled streets branch off from a centre of urban clutter, boutique art galleries, and assorted entertainment outlets. West Hollywood's walkable streets hold an array of thrift stores and consignment shops, conveniently neighboured by their upscale counterparts. Of course, the food in LA rarely disappoints - and West Hollywood features everything from five-star fodder to traditional pancake joints. By night, the Sunset Strip spices things up with an array of bars and clubs.
Bel Air, prestigious and affluent
If Los Angeles had a fairy kingdom, Bel Air would be it. The lucky Bel Air dweller may be found jogging the rolling hills of this safe, quiet neighbourhood, or zipping toward the fresh mountain air of the scenic Mulholland drive. Bel Air Country Club adds to the enchanting greenery, with one of the most beautiful golf courses in the world. And an evening at the fabled Vibrato Jazz Grill is a majestic selection for premier live music and delicious food.
Beverly Hills, home of luxury and glamour
Beverly Hills is one of the most well-known areas in the United States. It's hard to believe that 90210 began as a lima bean farm, as today it effortlessly exceeds its iconic status, bursting at the seams with all the first-class panache and glamour one would come to expect. Its status is secure as one of the world's premier upscale shopping meccas, and why not? Guests flutter amid and among countless boutiques along Rodeo Drive, hosting outposts for the cutting-edge couture of Burberry, Chanel, Gucci, Armani, Prada, Louis Vuitton and the list goes on.
Venice, relaxed beach-side atmosphere
Venice is an eclectic mix, a patchwork playground where vestiges of its counter-culture days proudly neighbour hip new entries, such as city-wide brunch and brick-oven pizza spots and Mediterranean-inspired tapas restaurants. While antique shops remind us that what's old can still be new again. And it remains a place for artists, vintage yet modern, serving draft beers alongside handcrafted cocktails.
“Born and raised in LA, I'll never tire of feeling the warm embrace of the Californian sun on my skin or smelling the fresh ocean breeze as I stroll through the city.”

Best time to go
During spring: this season is one of the best times to book a vacation home in LA, as the summer heat hasn’t yet hit. Temperatures range between 50-72°F (a chilly 10°C to around 22°C). From the Irish festival in March to the LA Marathon and quirky ‘Renaissance Faires’ every weekend through April and May, there’s plenty of family fun on offer throughout this period.
During summer: a feature of the summer in LA is the ‘June Gloom’. It’s not as bad as it sounds, just a blanket of fog caused by a combination of high water evaporation and the climbing temperatures. Beach house rentals in Los Angeles’ chic Venice Beach or the ultra-trendy Manhattan Beach are the best places to escape the crowds and cool off. If you’re here in July, look out for some serious Independence Day celebrations.
During autumn: if you’re heading for one of our vacation homes in Los Angeles to just sit back and relax, autumn is the ideal time. This is when SoCal takes on its more laid-back, relaxed persona. The crowds and the heat disappear with temperatures, which dip to more manageable levels at around the mid-70s°F (20-24°C). You have a cluster of celebrations in the autumn, from Halloween and Columbus Day to Thanksgiving in November.
During winter: book one of our Los Angeles vacation rentals in the winter months, and you can enjoy a spot of skiing alongside the festive celebrations. Head to Bear Mountain and the appropriately named Snow Valley for some great powder and a great variety of runs. In the city, temperatures are down in the low 70s°F. Blow the cobwebs away with a walk along a deserted Malibu beach as the sun sinks below the horizon.
How to get there
Make the journey as memorable as the arrival. Your dedicated concierge can arrange transportation from the closest airport to your holiday home in Los Angeles.
By plane
There are five major commercial airports, but most flights land at Los Angeles International Airport, commonly known simply as LAX. Your dedicated concierge can pre-arrange limousine transfers to any of our LA vacation rentals.
By private jet
As well as LAX, there are smaller airports in the greater LA area, including Long Beach, Burbank, Orange County and LA/Ontario. All of these are ideal for private jets. Your dedicated concierge can work with your pilot to arrange flight plans and transfers to your luxury Los Angeles villa rental.
By car
Everyone in LA drives, and its freeways are legendary for bumper-to-bumper queues during rush hour. However, a car is essential for getting around this vast city. And if you want to explore California’s coast and national parks, your dedicated concierge can arrange car hire for you, from a 4x4 to a luxury coupe or sports car.
Local Tips
- Watch out for traffic - travel time can be double from one hour to the next.
- Even though LA is a very sunny city and the weather is warm all year round, it gets cooler in the evening, so it's worth packing something warm in your suitcase.
- The customary tip rate is 15%–20% for servers, hairdressers, and barbers, while the usual tip for taxi drivers is 10%.
