The perfect stay
in Anguilla
This tiny dot in the Caribbean Sea is one of those picture-perfect destinations where Anguilla villas line the shoreline and the soft breeze whispers through the palm trees. Famous for its pristine sand beaches, Anguilla is a tropical paradise where the cares of the modern world simply melt away in the warm sunshine.
Originally part of St Kitts and Nevis, Anguilla has been an independent UK dependency for several decades. It’s a tranquil, easy-going island, filled with natural beauty and hidden wonders. While it may not be as mountainous as its neighbours, St Martin and St Barts, Anguilla has plenty of treasures that are well worth exploring, such as its enchanting hidden coves and wondrous limestone caves. Best known for being a premium destination for travellers who want to escape the hustle and bustle, luxury Anguilla villas and vacation rentals are beachfront beauties where the spectacular views are second to none.

A stroll down to any of the island’s tiny harbours will give you the chance to sample Anguilla’s best lobster, freshly caught that day and prepared with just a few choice ingredients to allow the sweet flavour to tantalise your tastebuds. Sunsets are spectacular, as the Caribbean sky transforms from azure to a dazzling display of pinks, purples and golds. This evening spectacle is best enjoyed from the balcony of your Anguilla villa, with a cool rum punch in hand and some succulent seafood sizzling on the barbeque.
- Anguilla has 33 beaches, so you can't see them all in one day. We advise taking your time and exploring slowly - you'll want to spend several days just driving around the island and visiting its many lovely white-sand shores.
- Hire a private charter and explore Anguilla's beautiful coastline and coral reefs from the water.
- Take a day trip to Prickly Pear Cays, an ideal spot for diving and snorkelling due to its sheer variety of flora and fauna.

Best time to go
During spring: the spring months bring hot days and warm nights, so you can pack light if you’re staying at one of our villas in Anguilla during March, April and May. All through the year, temperatures rarely vary by any more than about 12°C (10°F), with the annual average hovering around 27°C (80°F). For a quieter, more laid-back experience, book your Anguilla villa in the spring and you’ll benefit from deserted beaches and less chance of a shower.
During summer: if you want to experience a slice of authentic island life, the summer months are the time to visit. The temperatures remain relatively constant with little variation from the spring highs of around 27°C (80°F), but this is when you’ll be invited to join in the island’s celebrations such as the colourful Anguilla Day and Carnival and the Valley Street Festival.
During autumn: the days are lazy, the restaurants are serving up the island’s choicest lobsters, and the weather remains gorgeously warm during the autumn months. You may encounter a rain shower or two, but they’re normally over very quickly before the clouds part to reveal clear blue skies once again. The water is perfect for diving and snorkelling at this time of the year.
During winter: from November through to February, the island comes alive with visitors and Anguilla vacation rentals are in high demand. Sunshine is almost guaranteed, and entertainment venues have a full calendar of shows and events throughout the season. The temperatures haven’t really deviated from that 27°C (80°F) average and humidity is low, making it the perfect time for exploring the island’s limestone caves or nature reserves.
How to get there
Make the journey as memorable as the arrival. Your dedicated concierge can arrange transportation from the closest airport to your Anguilla villa.
By car
Once you’re on the island, getting around is easy. Bear in mind that the island is only 16 miles long and three miles across at its widest point, so you’ll find most amenities and attractions, including its beaches, are close to your Anguilla rental villa. Your dedicated concierge can arrange car hire for you if you wish. Be aware that in Anguilla, they drive on the left side of the road.
By plane
Clayton J. Lloyd International Airport is your point of entry if you’re reaching your onefinestay villa in Anguilla by plane. If you’re flying by private jet it’s worth noting that there are no refuelling facilities at the airport, so your pilot will need enough fuel for the return journey. An alternative is to fly to nearby St Martin and catch the ferry across to Anguilla.
By boat
The most common route to Anguilla is by boat from neighbouring St Martin, where regular ferries leave from Marigot in the French half of St Martin and terminating at Blowing Point on Anguilla. The journey takes around 25 minutes. Fast ferries also run from Blowing Point to Princess Juliana Airport on St Martin and take around 30 minutes, and include an airport drop-off service.
Local tips
- To enjoy Anguilla fully, a car rental is advisable. Although small in size, a vehicle allows you to really explore this Caribbean Island properly.
- Those driving in Anguilla should be aware that a local driver's licence is required - you can purchase one on the island when you pick up your rental car.
- Unlike other Caribbean islands, there are no cruise ships in Anguilla - ideal if you’re searching for a more laid-back island lifestyle.
