At the end of a busy day, exclusive lodges welcome you home with a roaring log fire and après ski socialising and some truly epic mountain views, dusted with a sprinkling of stars. The gold may have long gone, but Breckenridge is a shining gem in the heart of the Rockies.
“Breckenridge is all about cozy moments with loved ones, whether that's drinks around the fireplace, soaking in the hot tub after a day out on the slopes or exploring the town's lively après-ski scene.”
Please note: these are the average temperatures reported but can vary greatly due to weather conditions, such as heat waves etc. We kindly invite you to contact us for more information, including confirmation that your chosen chalet has air conditioning, to ensure a comfortable stay.
During spring: if you want the best seats in the best restaurants but without the long wait, April and May are the best times of the year to visit Breckenridge. Plenty of festivals take place around this time of the year too, so there’s always something to see or do. It’s a great time of the year to go fly-fishing, and temperatures are around 55°F (12°C) and steadily rising through to the end of May.
During summer: the ski trails may be closed but instead you have a fabulous array of mountain biking and hiking tracks to explore. The mountain lifts take you up to the high trails, or you can take the family to Peak 8 Base Camp and find out all about the mining history of the mountains. Temperatures climb up to the low 20s°C but remember to take a jumper as they drop away sharply in the evenings.
During autumn: while September is quite warm, the season really starts in earnest in October with the first snowfalls of the year. Temperatures range from as warm as 10°C (50°F) down to -9°C (15°F) so it’s time to pack your winter ski gear.
During winter: you’ll see the heaviest snowfall during December and January, although February and March still pile on the powder on the mountain slopes. Temperatures drop considerably and are rarely above freezing. If you’re driving to your Breckenridge cabin or vacation rental during this time you may need to fit snow chains and you will definitely need winter tyres to cope with the road surfaces.
Make the journey as memorable as the arrival. Your dedicated concierge can arrange transportation from the closest airport to your Breckenridge chalet.
International and domestic flights (as well as private charters) arrive at Denver International Airport. This major airport is 104 miles to the east of Breckenridge. Your dedicated concierge can arrange transfers from here or Colorado Springs Airport or can arrange for car hire to be waiting for you when you arrive at your luxury vacation rental in Breckenridge. The smaller Eagle County Regional Airport may be an alternative for guests arriving on private charter flights.
Interstate 70 is the easiest way to reach Breckenridge, which is located off Highway 9. The roads are excellent, but we strongly advise hiring a 4x4 or AWD vehicle during the winter months to easily access some of our more secluded Breckenridge vacation rentals.
