French Riviera villa rentals

The perfect stay
in the French Riviera

There’s something so unapologetically glamorous about the French Riviera. Tucked away in the sunny south of France, it’s blessed with dozens of enchanting emerald coves, a clutch of glittering coastal metropolises, and some truly fabulous French Riviera rental villas that you’ll likely never want to leave.

Known as the 'Côte d’Azur' for the rich blue hue of its ocean, the fabulous French Riviera is a playground for those seeking sunshine and good vibes. Its picture-perfect coastline is dripping in golden beaches, while its acclaimed cities all have something unique to offer — from high-end eateries in luminous Saint-Tropez to 16th-century monuments in authentic Antibes. Head inland and you’ll discover even more delights. There are sweeping vineyards perfect for wine tastings, plus fragrant flower fields whose blooms are destined to end up in the perfume houses of historic Grasse.

Dozens of luxury French Riviera villas sprawl leisurely within the region’s coastal resorts. Base yourself on the outskirts of cosmopolitan Cannes or slumber in charming Cassis to enjoy exclusive beaches and marina views. Alternatively, spend your days strolling along Nice’s Promenade de Anglais and devouring delectable cuisine at atmospheric bistros in Vieux Nice (the city’s characterful old town).

Things you can’t miss in the French Riviera
  • Take a stroll along the glitzy Boulevard de la Croisette in Cannes to admire the scenery and soak up the local ambience.
  • Charter a private yacht and explore the stunning Mediterranean sea from a new angle.
  • Visit the charming seaside town of Saint-Tropez to enjoy beautiful old architecture, endless boutiques and designer shops, and an authentic Provençal atmosphere.

Best time to go

  • During spring: quiet beaches, flourishing flower meadows, and some seriously star-studded events makes spring a sublime time to book a villain the French Riviera. Temperatures tend to sit comfortably in the late teens °C (60s℉), and there are heaps of exciting things on the calendar — from the Cannes Film Festival to the Monaco Grand Prix.

  • During summer: there’s no better time to enjoy the French Riviera’s blissful beaches than the balmy summer months. Hot, dry weather makes daily swims a necessity, while there are plenty of music festivals and lively national celebrations (such as Bastille Day) to add to your diary. By September, the summer rush has ended, yet daytime temperatures still sit sublimely around 25°C (77℉).

  • During autumn: cooler climes and the odd rainy day make autumn a brilliant season for exploring the French Riviera’s remarkable cities and towns. Layer up for long walks along the scenic Cap D’Antibes coastal path or get into the festive spirit with a wander around the region’s Christmas markets, which typically appear in late November.

  • During winter: while January tends to be sleepy after the festive rush, there are several events to look forward to in February and March. Majestic Menton, with its medieval old town, hosts its annual Lemon Festival, while Nice comes alive with Carnaval. You could also combine your French Riviera villa stay with a ski adventure in Isola 2000, which is less than two hours away by road from Nice.

How to get there

Make the journey as memorable as the arrival. Your dedicated concierge can arrange transportation from the closest airport or train station to your French Riviera villa.

By plane

Nice hosts France’s second biggest international airport and it’s the main transport hub for the region. There are also several smaller airports in Cannes and Toulon which offer domestic routes and private flights. The easiest way to reach your villa in the French Riviera from the airport is by pre-arranging a private transfer with your concierge.

By train

France’s efficient and well-connected rail network makes arriving in the French Riviera by rail a delightful option. Speed past lush countryside and breathtaking mountain ranges before arriving at key destinations like Nice or Villefranche-sur-Mer. As well as domestic services, you can catch a train from neighbouring Italy or even from London via Marseille.

By car

While the majority of Côte d’Azur cities are pedestrianised, you may still want to hire a car if you’re staying somewhere more remote. The French Riviera’s coastline is a dream to drive along, thanks to panoramic vistas and wonderfully smooth roads. A highlight is the Corniches; a trio of spectacular coastal roads connecting Nice and Monaco.

By boat

The French Riviera is an international yachting destination, with major marinas located in Saint-Tropez, Antibes, and Cannes. Like the sound of sailing leisurely along the cinematic coastline? Make it a reality by booking a day or overnight charter via your dedicated concierge.

Local tips

  • In France, especially in smaller towns, the majority of grocery stores, shops, and restaurants are closed on Sundays and Mondays. Have our local concierge arrange grocery delivery to enjoy a fully-stocked fridge upon arrival.
  • The French Riviera has a mild climate year-round with an average of 300 days of sunshine annually. Rain is most likely to appear in the spring and fall, but there is never a real rainy season.
  • Renting a car will allow you to explore the French Riviera fully. The region stretches along the coast from Menton up into the Southern Alps, meaning there’s plenty to visit and discover here.
