Abelard and Heloise, Serge Gainsbourg and Jane Birkin, Jean-Paul Sartre and Simone de Beauvoir, Victor Hugo and Juliette Drouet… The iconic city of Paris has certainly been a favourite with lovers over the centuries.

But it’s not just a destination for couples: the city's chic fashion boutiques, picture-perfect views, and bustling wine bars make it the dream spot for celebrating friendship, too. From sipping Champagne amidst the stunning Belle Époque décor of Le Train Bleu to outfit spotting over a coffee at one of the sweet riverside terraces, Paris is filled with wonderful moments to savour with your bestie, whether on Galentine's or at any other time of the year.

We were so happy to host Courtney Halverson and Krystal Bick on their recent trip to Paris. Courtney and Krystal picked the elegant Rue Davioud as the base for their girls' trip. Here they share their favourite spots for a gorgeous Galentine's Day in the City of Love.

What's your favourite cosy cafe in Paris?

For something a bit cozy and that feels quintessentially Parisian, La Palette in the Saint-Germain area is always a great spot to grab a seat and watch the world go by. It’s been said both Picasso and Bourdain were regulars here - two men we’d love to sit and chat with for hours if we could.

What are your favourite shops?

You can’t visit Paris without popping into one of Sézane’s shops, which always feel like you’ve stepped right into their dreamy catalogue. Officine Universelle Buly is a must for engraved brushes or combs and bottles of lotions and soaps that look like real works of art. Highly recommend grabbing a coffee at their bar and watching their staff members carefully craft the handwritten labels with calligraphy – it’s breathtaking.

Where's the best park for a little wander?

Jardin du Luxembourg is perfect for a wander or as a spot to bring a book and read. It’s beautiful right at the beginning of spring when everyone takes advantage of a sunny day.

What's your favourite brunch spot or coffee shop?

The coffee shops in Montmartre are some of our favorites, with Clove and Sylon de Montmartre being excellent go-tos, and a great spot to duck in for some caffeine.

What's your favourite restaurant and why?

Le Train Bleu and Chez Janou are each iconic in their own right but on this most recent visit, we went to Mondaine – a neo-cabaret restaurant experience that you simply must bring your best girlfriends to for a night of dancing and singing in your chicest cocktail attire.

What other activities would you recommend for a Galentines in Paris?

Musée Rodin is always top of the list for a museum experience that feels a bit more intimate and transportive. And, if you find yourself in the city on a weekend, you have to visit the largest flea market in town – Les Puces de Saint-Ouen – for hours and hours of antique treasure hunting. No matter how many times you visit, there’s always some small detail that you’ve missed, and it’s a beautiful setting no matter the season.
