The Very Chicest Eateries in Paris
I moved around a lot as a child and, while travelling will always be in my DNA, I knew from the moment I stepped foot in Paris that this would become my home.
I've been here eight years now; I've walked around many neighbourhoods, eaten at plenty of cafés, and had lots of parties in the city with friends, but there is always something new to discover. From the latest exhibitions, concerts, and festivals, to secret restaurants and buzzing bars, you will never get bored here.
Whether you're a first-time visitor or a Parisien local, you'll adore my favourite spots in the city!
Did you know that there are over 100 museums in Paris? With so many options, it can be hard to know which ones to visit during your stay. My personal favourites are the Musée Rodin for beautiful sculptures, the Palais Galliera for fashion exhibitions, and the museums at the Jardin des Plantes for nature, evolution and geology.
You might already know the iconic Galeries Lafayette, Printemps, BHV or La Samaritaine, so let me take you to some lesser-known shops. Head to Merci, a lifestyle concept store slash book café. Or discover small artisans and creators at Klin d'Oeil. For family fashion and accessories, Smallable is your go-to shop.
I love to explore the city on foot. Enjoy a leisurely stroll along the banks of the Seine, have a picnic in a park (Jardin des Tuileries or Jardin du Luxembourg are great spots for that), discover the historic neighbourhood of Le Marais with all its tiny streets and shops, scale the steps at Montmartre for a wonderful view over the city, the options are endless. Let the city speak to you and follow where it takes you.
Did you even go to Paris if you haven't tried all the pastries and bread? I think not. My go-tos are Tapisserie for its maple syrup tart, Mamiche for its cream-filled choux, and Benoit Castel for their fresh-baked bread. Of course, most boulangeries in the city will serve you delicious classic viennoiseries so be sure to grab a croissant and a coffee to start your day!
With four restaurants in the city, you'll have your pick of scrumptious French food. The Nouvelle Garde group celebrates the French terroir and gastronomy. Using only fresh local produce, the menus evolve with the seasons; but one thing that doesn't change is the bold, colourful decor and friendly atmosphere.
In search of a bar for a special date night or drinks with friends? Bisou is the perfect spot. You won't find a menu here as cocktails are made especially for you; just tell them what flavours you want and the bartender will work their magic! Bonus points for the fun look of the drinks.
Don't drink alcohol? Their mocktails are just as good.
Whenever I want to celebrate something with modern fusion fine dining cuisine, I go to Oktobre by Chef Martin Maumet. Order the tasting menu with wine pairing and let yourself be blown away by the quality of the food and service.
