Esprit del Mar is a charming, traditional-style villa standing atop an ancient fossilized coral dune on the Mexican coastline, just five minutes from the markets and restaurants of Akumal, 20 minutes from Tulum, and overlooking the beautiful Caribbean Sea.

The elegant 12,000 sq ft villa is the only private home on the coastline with its own 550 sq ft private beach bar and lounge palapa with a thatched roof. Pull up a stool, peruse the bottles behind the bar and ask the friendly staff to prepare your drinks while you lounge poolside on the sun-drenched deck or paddle your toes in the cool, sparkling ocean.

The walled estate welcomes guests through a regal entrance and into a private, secure and secluded compound boasting spacious living areas with high ceilings and vast windows making the most of the stunning oceanside setting. There are nine large bedroom suites spread across the estate making Esprit del Mar the perfect destination for family get-togethers, groups of friends or corporate retreats. All nine bedrooms are air-conditioned and ensuite; eight come with king-sized beds, while the final room, ideal for kids, has two sets of bunk beds and the option of outdoor sleeping for a fun night of camping overlooking the Mexican jungle.

The 1,000 sq ft master bedroom is an exquisite suite with a private balcony. The villa is finished with grand opulence with glittering chandeliers and domed ceilings and there’s an abundance of stylish spaces to relax, unwind and socialise, from the black onyx bar to the outdoor dining terrace overlooking the sea. There’s an amazing chef’s kitchen and a private cook on hand to whip up a luxurious dinner party or make an intimate moonlit meal for two.

Outside the infinity-edged pool is crowned with a large whirlpool; the perfect spot for an evening spent under a star-studded sky with cocktails and friends. The terraced garden provides lots of quiet areas to relax on a lounger for a spot of sunbathing or a quiet snooze. Upstairs, the vast rooftop is a wonderful sun-kissed space with two palapa open-air rooms which create cosy, intimate areas to take a break from the hustle and bustle of a family trip or a fun break with friends. Enjoy a massage or sip evening margaritas while soaking up the breathtaking sunset views.

The villa also has its own private stretch of sand with loungers and a path that winds its way down to the sea (which is just 200 yards away from the villa) so guests can enjoy a dip in the waves. Borrow the villa’s kayaks and head out to sea to explore the pretty coastline or feel the warm sand between your toes while you enjoy a relaxing stroll along the beach.
