From Hidden Bay’s remarkable cliffside location, right above the blue Caribbean Sea, a stone staircase descends to its private, perfect sandy beach. Just offshore from that is a reef festooned with colourful fish and corals – and four snorkelling sets are provided, along with boogie boards and kayaks. It’ll be hard to believe that the villa is actually set within a small, quiet town.

Don’t fancy the sea? There’s also a fresh-water infinity pool and a bubbling Jacuzzi. One circular sundeck seems suspended over the ocean; a waterside patio is toe-dippingly close. The thatched-roof outdoor bar makes an ideal gathering place for everyone to sip sundowners. Those, alongside indoor or al fresco meals on the main veranda, can be ordered through your butler and fixed by Hidden Bay’s chef – both of them part of a private staff entirely at your beck and call.

Each air-conditioned bedroom is equally sized, and each has a TV and modern bathroom. Four are scattered across the main house’s pair of floors, and afford scenic balconies or terraces via louvred windows and doors. The other two fill a poolside cottage including a kitchenette, lounge and Jacuzzi.

Leave time to explore – and not just the self-proclaimed Best Little Pattie Shop in Jamaica opposite Hidden Bay’s entrance gate! Very close are the Green Grotto Caves, filled with stalactites and stalagmites, while Nine Mile, in the mountains just south, was Bob Marley’s birthplace and contains his grave.

    • The property will only accept a 5-night rental if the dates begin or end on a Saturday.
    • A 7-night, full-house rate is required for all holiday weeks which include Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Eve.
