A magnificent chalet that looks like it would be equally at home in the Swiss Alps, San Joaquin is a stop-you-in-your-tracks chalet of exquisite proportions. This six-bedroom retreat welcomes up to 14 guests with unsurpassed views of the San Juan mountains and ski-in-ski-out access to the Double Cabins green run or the Sundance blue run. With turrets that make it look like it stepped out of a fairy-tale book, San Joaquin certainly lives up to its name.

Telluride is a town with two very distinct personalities. During the winter, it's an epic winter sports resort that offers you everything from world-class skiing to challenging ice climbs, family-friendly snow mountain biking, and dog-sleigh rides. Flip to the summer months, and it's alive with festivals celebrating its historical past, the gourmet food and drink of the region, and a cluster of music and film festivals.

San Joaquin never ceases to amaze from the second you pull up the driveway. The Great Room has a wall of glass and soaring vaulted ceilings that showcase the ever-changing views. Custom-made furniture and textiles complement the signature stone hearth and exposed wood beams. A formal dining area has space for 12 guests, while the impeccably equipped, professional-standard kitchen has an impressive island for prepping and a stunning copper-topped breakfast bar, as well as a walk-in pantry and every appliance you could imagine. A second living area is an ideal spot for curling up with a good book or for more informal socialising.

The bedrooms keep up that Swiss castle character, with a magnificent four-poster king-size bed in the master suite. Two more guest suites have king-size beds, while a third has a cosy queen-size bed. The bunk room is a charming spot for younger guests, with twin bunks to cuddle into at the end of the day. A separate guest apartment provides additional sleeping with a split king bed, a full kitchen, living space and a private balcony.

A family games room includes a full-size pool table and is also a convenient spot for getting ready for a day on the slopes. A full home theatre is a real treat for movie night, while outside, a bubbling hot tub awaits to soothe those aching muscles. A heated three-car garage and heated driveway make getting in and out during the winter months safe and easy. San Joaquin is, quite simply, divine.
