Villa Breakwater Griante sits peacefully right on the shores of Lake Como in the village of Griante close to Bellagio, Menaggio and Varenna. Starting life as a boatyard in the 1920s, it was more recently transformed into the contemporary and luxurious villa it is today. The original boatyard's industrial character and features combine with a luxury finish throughout.

Perfect for larger groups, Villa Breakwater Griante sleeps up to 16 people in eight stylish bedrooms. Those into modern art and architecture will be in heaven here, with lake-facing spaces featuring glass-lined walls and clean lines. Living/dining areas feel like high-end clubs or hip restaurants, with chic seating areas and a bar for enjoying drinks before dinner.

The eight bedrooms are spread across three floors, with each having a sumptuous double bed and ensuite. One of the two top-floor bedrooms has a private terrace for moonlight views over the water and out to the mountains.

There's something for everyone at Villa Breakwater Griante. The wine cellar and professional-standard kitchen with breakfast bar will delight foodies, while literature lovers will enjoy the well-stocked library. Unwind in the spa with its decadent massage room, sauna and steam room or re-energise with a workout in the gym.

Dine indoors or out on the terrace overlooking the sparkling waters of Lake Como. This terrace is sure to be the main social hub, with a heated swimming pool, fire pit and barbecue area all calling it home too.

Head out on the water from your private boat dock and explore beautiful Lake Como. The villa comes with the exclusive use of a self-driving boat (no boating licence necessary) which can fit up to five people. Fuel for the boat is charged at an additional cost.

Just a short drive away is the town of Tremezzo; home to the famous Villa Carlotta. The shores of Lake Como are lined with majestic, historic villas, as well as pretty villages with lidos and watersports facilities.
