Once home to a private olive press used by one of the region’s influential families, the villa can trace its history back to the 16th century and retains many of its original features.

Situated in the valley of Vorno, just six km from the tranquil streets and superb local cuisine of Lucca, Villa Franto also offers easy access to some of the area’s most iconic destinations. Sightseeing trips to Pisa can be complemented by gallery visits in Florence and walking tours of spectacular Siena, while the pine-covered slopes of Monte Pisano are ideal for hiking, mountain biking and nature enthusiasts.

Each of Villa Franto’s four bedrooms is equipped with a queen-size bed and ensuite bathroom, ensuring you benefit from absolute comfort during your stay. Authentic Tuscan decor, with its exposed wooden beams, tiled floors and warm colour palette, is prevalent throughout the villa, no more so than in its traditional farmhouse kitchen. The cosy living space features plump sofas and opens onto the outside dining area, while a separate leisure room contains a widescreen TV, DVD player and an extensive collection of board games.

Outside, the wonderfully maintained grounds include a heated swimming pool and sun loungers, a sizable dining table that makes for excellent al fresco mealtimes and a barbeque for afternoon cook-outs. Aromatic flowers have been planted throughout the garden and combined to create a romantic flower gazebo. A plethora of nearby activities, including fitness trails, thermal baths, horse riding, tennis and golf, guarantee you’ll be spending plenty of time out enjoying the fresh countryside air.
