Description

With the warm glow of the hearthside seemingly baked into its walls, Moosehead Cabin is the ultimate cosy mountain nook from which to venture out and explore. Situated just above Teton village, you can get to the ski slopes in a two-minute walk and drive down to the village with its shopping, dining and lovely bars. The airport is only 35 minutes away, the historic town of Jackson is 20 minutes away and a five-minute drive will see you to the incredible Grand Teton National Park. All around lie the 133 trails of the ski resort as well as a multitude of hiking and biking trails in the summer. The spirit of the 'wild west' abounds at Moosehead Cabin, starting with the titular hunting trophy, gazing down at you from above the beautiful stone fireplace. Large windows pepper the smooth walls of timber, framing the stunning vistas beyond. A lovely mix of hand-built, vintage and traditional furniture provides cosy fireside seating. The handsome, rustic-wood dining table sits beneath the soaring beams and the lovely kitchen is packed with everything you need including a charming breakfast bar. Up above this lofty space is an adorable balcony with a deep squashy sofa which converts to an extra queen bed. The two delightful bedrooms have a glorious peace and sense of seclusion to them. The master queen suite is full of gorgeous wooden furniture which retains the curves and patterns of the trees from which they were hewn. A panorama of windows offers views out to the stately aspens with a cosy reading nook to enjoy them from and the stylish bathroom boasts a deep soaking tub. A second bedroom has large twin beds - ideal for kids - which can be converted to a king. There's a spacious walk-in closet and a handsome wooden desk looking out across the trees. Outside awaits a fabulous deck, cloaked by the leaves of the aspen trees and providing a glorious setting for a picnic or après-ski drinks. There's also a gas grill you can fire up in summer - or winter if you're feeling brave - and a lavish hot tub which is heavenly all year round. The lower stone terrace is hugged by fragrant grasses or shimmering snow: from here you can look out across the undulating slopes of the mountains knowing you are in the perfect spot to appreciate its splendour.
