We stayed at the charming 48 First Street townhouse in Knightsbridge. It was nice to have the whole small house to ourselves even though we didn't need the extra bedrooms. The area and the street are the nicest we've ever stayed at in London.(The others being Pimlico and Notting Hill.) The furnishings are classic, comfy, elegant english style with plenty of nice antiques. The king size bed and linens were supremely comfortable. The primary bedroom was huge with lovely high ceilings. The two bathrooms were impeccably clean and well laid out with very nice fixtures. The grout was spotless. The kitchen/ dining area, while small, was workable for breakfasts and take away meals. It was also spotless and well supplied even though the quality of the pots and pans and cutlery was pretty low. In addition to that, there were only two things that night have been improved. The dining table was some kind of plastic, not of the very nice quality of everything else, and the little outdoor terrace off the kitchen needs replacement. We couldn't find a nice nearby regular grocery store but did find a nice specialty take away food shop for one night's dinner and then, of course, there was Harrod's fabulous food hall for our second night take away. We had arranged for onefinestay to stock our kitchen which worked out really well and was definitely worth the charge vs. the hassle of shopping for essentials on arrival. The one thing I would say about it was be very specific on what you are ordering otherwise you may end up with three large bags of crisps and an entire six pack of liter size sparkling water for a three night, 2 day stay, as we did! The rest of the order was appropriate and the nice treats supplied by onefinestay were much appreciated. We would definitely return to this lovely, comfortable, convenient home.

We really enjoyed experience of staying a cosy, character property very close to the amenities of Knightsbridge on a pretty street. It felt quintessially London.
