A true tropical island paradise set within two acres of beautifully maintained gardens, Nelson Gay is an exceptional coral-stone home accommodating up to 18 guests. Often considered to be one of the most elegant villas on the island, it is ideally situated on the secluded shores on the outskirts of Speightstown in Barbados.

Originally built by architect, Barbara Hill, for a United States Ambassador in the 1950s, the grand Nelson Gay exudes opulence from every corner. Fully staffed, guests will enjoy a butler, personal chef, housekeeper, maid, gardener and night security service throughout their stay.

Inside the villa, you will discover impressive 14ft ceilings and a blend of rich wood and tile floorings. Sumptuous furnishings, unique artwork, and beautiful antiques populate each and every room. The cool living area opens out directly onto the pool terrace, allowing for natural sunlight to pour in.

The villa itself boasts five airy bedrooms, each with luxury cotton bedding and private ensuites. Three of the bedrooms offer king-size beds, one a queen-size bed and the final bedroom comes equipped with twin-size beds, ideal for all sorts of group configurations. A separate cottage houses another king-size bedroom, complete with a private bathroom and three Chattel Houses on the grounds host one additional bedroom a piece (one queen-size and two king-size).

In the centre of the garden a grand 50’ heated pool awaits, lined in luxe green Italian tiles. Enjoy a couple of refreshing laps in the morning, before settling down to enjoy an alfresco breakfast in one of the many outdoor dining areas on the property. At the end of the garden, a cosy gazebo designed by Larry Warren provides the ultimate spot for cocktails or a quiet siesta!

With garden gates opening out onto pristine coral sands, beach days are always an option. Roped off for safe swimming and snorkelling, the bay is excellent for young families to enjoy with peace of mind.
