Once the home of Jean Paul Sartre and Simone de Beauvoir, the cobbled streets of Saint-Germain-des-Prés have seen their fair share of history. Today the area boasts a wealth of haute couture boutiques, as well as the the iconic Bon Marché, La Grande Épicerie de Paris and the gorgeous Boulevard Raspail II.

Past the Haussmannian exterior of Boulevard Raspail II, you'll find large, high-ceilinged rooms housing brightly coloured furnishings. The dining room is a balance of vintage and modern pieces, with glass-panelled doors leading into the sitting room. Here you can curl up by the fireplace with a good book, or gaze beyond the windows onto the scenery of the park below.

The interiors are enhanced by elegant little details: an antique toy rocking horse, modern art, ornate fireplaces and bright splashes of colour – from the cherry-red desk, and the orange cabinet. The monochromatic kitchen is well-proportioned – very suited for entertaining or for relaxed family dinners at home.

Meanwhile, with its soothing colour palette and decadent ensuite, the calming master bedroom is sure to appeal when it’s time to retire. The second and third bedroom are just as charming, each sporting a comfy queen-size bed and quirky little details. All three bedrooms have air-conditioning for the warmer summer months - a rarity in Paris.

Conveniently located, Boulevard Raspail II is just a stone's throw away from some of the capital's major attractions. However, Saint-Germain-des-Prés is also a surprisingly quiet neighbourhood with a real family feel. The vast 7th Arrondissement is home to such iconic Parisian sites as the Eiffel Tower and the Museé d'Orsay. With restaurants galore and plenty of shopping opportunities, it's an eclectic part of the city with plenty of personality.

Apartment was just as represented online. No surprises. Concierge service, especially Yosra, was exceptional. She was always helpful, understanding and attentive. All communication before and during our stay was outstanding. We are very pleased and look forward to using onefinestay again!

    • Please be aware that European air conditioning units are designed for a milder temperature range than American units. Whilst there is air conditioning in this home it might not feel as cool as some American air conditioning units.
    • In the third bedroom, the hanging storage space for clothes, is outside of the bedroom, in the hallway.
    • Please note that the heating will be on only between mid-October and May, in line with ecological and environmental practices aimed at limiting energy consumption and reducing our carbon footprint.
