Nestled in the striking rocks of Chileno Bay Cove is this alluring eight-bedroom family-friendly retreat, welcoming up to 18 guests. Cielito del Mar is a stunning example of contemporary design that utilises the majesty of the landscape as a key element. Created by architect Cliff May, it's a fabulous example of mid-20th-century construction that has been brought into the 21st century with beguiling interiors and perfectly executed motifs.
The villa sits in a desirable location between Cabo San Lucas and San José Del Cabo, putting fine dining, art galleries, and independent shops under a 20-minute drive away. This entire coastline is edged with golden sandy beaches lapped by warm, clear water, making water sports one of the major attractions in this part of Mexico. Hire a yacht and cruise the coast to find that secret cove, or scuba dive and be surrounded by coral reefs filled with brightly-coloured fish.
Cielito del Mar sits proudly on its own rocky outcrop, undisturbed by neighbours and benefiting from complete privacy. Every room in the villa has an indoor-outdoor element, connecting you to the surroundings and allowing that mesmerising sunset to become a living work of art in every space. The kitchen is expertly fitted out to appeal to the most demanding chef. A choice of dining options includes a more formal interior area and a chilled-out al fresco space for family meals and get-togethers, complete with a gas BBQ and bar next to the pool.
The villa's eight bedrooms each have their own character. Subtle colours create restful spaces, with attractive ensuites matching the quality and meticulous attention to detail demonstrated throughout the villa. Six of the eight bedrooms, including the honeymoon suite, feature spacious king-size beds, and a further bedroom has two delightful queen-size beds. The final bedroom is a children's room with four cosy double bunks.
Outside, a large pool with an arched bridge spanning the width of one end gives the impression of a natural pool, fitting in with the organic elements that are such an integral part of the villa's charm. A jacuzzi and multiple shaded areas offer everyone plenty of space to relax, and a short set of steps leads down to a private beach. This open, airy and never-to-be-forgotten villa is truly exquisite and a place where memories are made.
