Several trailheads begin on the villa grounds, leading to the picturesque Alpilles. If you’re craving something a little slower-paced, the nearby Golf de Servanes course offers an utterly unique 18 holes, set among the olive groves. Take a scenic drive, stopping off at quaint hilltop villages where you can buy local Les Baux de Provence wines, olive oil, goat’s cheese, and honey. Experience a Cordon Bleu banquet at one of the region’s twinkling chateaux and supper with the locals in a sleepy town square bistro for the complete Provençale gastro experience.
Villa Aurélienne’s living spaces dance with soft, natural light and charm with exposed timber ceilings. Curl up on the living room sofa, glass of wine in hand, enjoying the bucolic vista through the sliding glass doors as you plan what to prepare for supper. You’re treated to a rustic, French country kitchen with a modern twist, and this indulgent space is enhanced by a kitchen table for oven-to-tabletop feasts. You can also serve wonderfully informal suppers al fresco, filling the table with vibrant produce from the local open-air markets.
Sage greens, warm terracotta, and serene neutrals complement the unfinished floorboards and natural materials in the villa’s five lavish bedrooms. Two offer a king-size bed, one provides a super king-size bed, another is home to a queen-size bed, and the final bedroom is ideal for little ones, with a snug twin bunk. Each bedroom features a spa-style ensuite with opulent rainfall shower and deep soak tub.
Guests can enjoy a spot of friendly competition on the pétanque and volleyball courts before sipping a sundowner by the peaceful private pool. There are a number of charming lounge terraces and private nooks where you can let your stresses and strains drift away at the remarkable Villa Aurélienne.
