Secluded in tropical foliage, this breathtaking hideaway is sleek and stylish whilst staying in tune with its natural surrounds. 16 Tulum is one of the most individual villas in Tulum – think polished concrete floors, minimalist décor and cactus gardens – and it’s only ten minutes from the beach.

Waking up to bird song and views of lush palms, 16 Tulum feels a world away from the hustle and bustle, but it’s just a short bike ride from Tulum’s vibrant streets and beautiful beaches. Have breakfast by the large swimming pool in the courtyard (you can hire a private chef if you prefer not to cook while you’re on holiday) and then chat to the villa manager about how you’d like to spend the day. In the evenings, the garden fire pit is the ideal spot for gathering to sip a few margaritas.

The villa has all mod cons and the stunning indoor-outdoor lounge/kitchen/diner is where all the group can come together. The eight-bedroom suites all have an ensuite bathroom and private access, so this villa will suit a range of guests. The ground-floor bedrooms have use of a plunge pool, while the upper-floor bedrooms have a large terrace. Bedroom eight is great for families – it has one king bed and two single beds – while bedrooms one and two can become interconnecting, depending on your needs. For the perfect balance of zen and fun, you won’t find a better option than 16 Tulum.
