This charming four-bedroom chalet welcomes up to ten guests, providing all the comfort you could wish for in an idyllic spot surrounded by awe-inspiring beauty. Knoll Top Retreat is an exceptional hideaway in the mountains that takes you well away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

The area around Telluride is an explorer's paradise. This part of Colorado always delivers, from high alpine lakes that are alive with trout in the summer to the photogenic majesty of Ajax Peak. A short walk away from Mountain Village Core, it's easy to catch a gondola down to Telluride and access the popular surrounding ski slopes. Find out about the prehistoric roots of the Ancestral Pueblo people at the Anasazi Heritage Center, or stare in wonder at the breathtaking Bridal Veil Falls. After a day of exploring, make your way back to town and sample some of the potent craft bourbons and vodkas at the Telluride Distillery.

While opulence abounds at Knoll Top Retreat, it's a more laid-back, relaxed indulgence that encourages you to slow down and find a little slice of peace and quiet. Vaulted ceilings and oversized stonework give the interior an organic feel that works harmoniously with its beautiful location. The main living area is flooded with natural light streaming through the large picture windows. Meals can be whipped up in no time in the gourmet kitchen and served either in the intimate dining room or out on the terrace on those warm, sunny days. An office with a spectacular view makes catching up on emails all the more pleasurable.

The primary suite is on the middle level and has unique features, such as rustic tile flooring and a stone-lined fireplace. The sumptuous king-size bed looks out over a panoramic vista of the mountains and meadows, the perfect way to wake up in the morning. Downstairs, three more bedrooms have cosy queen-size beds and ensuites, and a sofa bed in the den completes the flexible sleeping arrangements.

A hot tub sits on the terrace, waiting for you to sink beneath the bubbles and let the warm water soothe those aching muscles. Raise a glass of wine, watch the stars twinkle over the mountain tops, and let the pure tranquillity revive your mind, body and soul.
