St Martin is famous for the island's 37 beaches. Just a short walk from the villa, you'll find one of the best – Baie aux Prunes, also known as Plum Bay. Solitude and serenity are the watchwords on this expanse of soft, golden sand. Don’t expect any amenities here or even a decent phone signal. This is a beach you come to that lets you escape the everyday world for a while and appreciate the simpler things in life, including the best sunsets on the island. After a day spent reviving your spirit on the beach, head to one of the nearby restaurants for the freshest seafood with a Caribbean twist, accompanied by potent rum punches or a chilled glass of chardonnay.
There's a sense of serenity at Villa Arawak, thanks to its spectacular gardens. An open-plan interior leads effortlessly to a refined exterior, encouraging guests to make the most of every sunkissed hour outdoors and the stellar display of the night sky once the sun has gone down. The living space is decorated in simple white, accented by modern furniture in muted tones. The idea is to allow nature to take precedence when it comes to the décor. The kitchen is gourmet standard, and meals are taken al fresco on the terrace or in the elegant dining room. Four bedrooms all offer king-size beds and garden views, as well as ensuite bathrooms.
The large heated swimming pool dominates the exterior, tempting guests to get in a few lengths before breakfast.
