You’ll rarely find a home with more spread-out bedrooms than Villa Vista Caribe. All three of the ensuite chambers in its sprawling main house occupy a separate floor, allowing each to afford sensational ocean views from its private deck (none better than the top-floor master suite). One has twin beds with kids in mind. The fourth bedroom, meanwhile, is really an apartment. Located in a stone-built pool cabana, it delivers perfect privacy – plus a kitchenette, bathtub, bar, coral-stone features and yet more splendid sea-gazing – to parents or grandparents.

Those views stretch across the glinting Caribbean Sea to neighbouring islands St James and St Thomas, thanks to Vista Caribe’s 650-feet perch above the sea in gated Virgin Grand Estates. They’re also wondrous from the private pool, and its surrounding play areas: loungers on an antique brick verandah, a classically-columned gazebo for outdoor dining or thick gardens ensuring total privacy. A variety of additional terrace tables also look ocean-wards, positioned ready for the daily, stunning sunsets.

Inside, there’s a richly-furnished ‘great room’ whose open-plan design encompasses a lounge and formal dining area. The superbly-equipped kitchen, with top-notch appliances and amenities is in an adjacent alcove, past an island bar. Every room has adjustable air-conditioning. Supermarkets are only five minutes away, with Cruz Bay’s restaurants and the first fantastic North Shore beaches about twice that.
