This charming villa is part of the exclusive oceanside golf community of Los Delfines, a gated estate covering over 134 acres and with 6km of private beach. For guests who want to spend the morning teeing off on pristine greens before teaching the children to bodyboard or surf in the afternoon, it’s the perfect location. Look beyond the estate, though, and you have the magnificent jungles of Costa Rica to explore. Paddleboard down a serene river that carves its way through an ancient mango forest, or take a thrilling helicopter ride across the smoking craters of the island’s volcanoes.

After a busy day unleashing your inner adventurer, Villa Amor del Mar welcomes you back with open arms. The living spaces are comfortable and relaxed, opening out onto the sun terrace and the villa’s large infinity pool. Your chef is busy in the ultra-modern kitchen, rustling up a delicious meal using local ingredients, and served al fresco on the terrace. The villa’s five exquisite bedrooms are tranquil and decorated in soothing, restful colours. The primary bedroom has an indulgent king-size bed, while three more bedrooms each have two queen-sized beds. The final bedroom is a private space with one queen-size bed and all of the bedrooms have their own elegant ensuites.

While the temptations of that sumptuous swimming pool encourage you to get a few laps in before breakfast, the villa’s private beach access lets you indulge in the joys of wild swimming or a sunrise yoga session on the sand.
