Not only one of the gated Miskawaan estate’s most secluded villas, beachside Villa Acacia also ranks among its most intimate. By being available on a two, three or four-bedroom basis, the bolthole suits couples as well as families or small groups visiting the north coast.

The sleeping quarters flank a courtyard garden where water trickles. Two ensuite twin bedrooms share a pavilion complete with an excellent private gym. The opulent master bedroom solely occupies another building, its sun terrace looking towards a neighbouring isle. One last spacious pavilion contains a double bedroom alongside the laze-inducing lounge and a media room whose pull-down projector screen enables movie nights using the Netflix subscription. Handsome teak floors recur throughout, as do elegant print wallpapers by French boutique Élitis.

Outside, Acacia’s chlorinated, blue-tiled pool is hugged by decks and lawns, with an outdoor dining area and daybeds right by that sandy beach. Kayaks can be borrowed. Tropical greenery screens the villa, which is positioned on one side of the estate.

The estate’s staff can arrange numerous activities for you on request, from yoga sessions or visiting masseurs to Thai cookery lessons, chauffeured excursions to elephant sanctuaries or waterfall hikes, street-food tours, speedboat excursions to snorkel in marine parks or private picnics on uninhabited islands.
