Top destinations for Spring Break

Spring Break was made for sunshine holidays – the perfect way to start the new season. It’s the perfect time to relax on Mexico’s white-sand beaches, admire Hawaii’s awe-inspiring landscape or explore Turks and Caicos’ exotic National Parks. Still not decided on your destination? Here’s our hand-picked list of amazing Spring Break spots.

Mexico, Tulum

All white sands and cerulean seas, Tulum’s beaches are a lot like paradise. If it’s nightlife you’re looking for, try vibrant Akumal Beach, while the popular Playa Paraíso is best for watersports, including snorkelling. Quieter Las Palmas is the place to go for serene seclusion – and for those wanting to experience some local culture there’s Tulum’s imposing coastal Maya ruins (not to be missed).

If you’re looking for a luxury hideaway in Tulum, Alma Viva is elegant yet authentic, and gives right onto a palm-dotted beach.

Hawaii, Kona

The best of Hawaii’s beaches has to be the stunning Kua Bay – an incredibly photogenic place that’s great for sunbathing, swimming, snorkelling and bodyboarding, so is sure to please the whole family. Keen hikers will enjoy the coastal trail from here to Kukio Beach, and should also make time to visit Mauna Kea, the sacred mountain that’s dotted with both observatories and ancient temples.

Maluhia Hale is our current favorite home here – we love its luxe interiors and breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean.

Dominican Republic, Punta Cana

Punta Cana’s Macao Beach is a Caribbean idyll that deserves its reputation as a great surfing spot. If you’d like to head further afield, unspoilt Saona Island is well worth a visit. You can easily go by boat from Punta Cana, but we think a helicopter trip is even better – you get to admire the dramatic coastline from above before touching down on the island to explore, swim and sip rum at the bar.

Fancy getting to know Punta Cana? Cayuco 9 – a stylish home that’s at once traditional and decadent – is a great base for exploring this beautiful region.

Turks & Caicos, Providenciales

Providenciales’ Grace Bay Beach has been voted the best beach in the world, and it’s no wonder. Grace Bay has soft sands, clear waters and (literally) miles of space, so it’s always easy to find somewhere to soak up the sun. It’s a place you might not want to stray far from, but it’s worth taking time out to visit Chalk Sound National Park and catch a glimpse of the colorful local wildlife.

A sleek oceanside home with generous indoor-outdoor rooms, Villa Alinna is a great choice if you’re tempted by Providenciales.
