Villa Tjitrap’s architect was asked to design a space that reflected a landmark plantation house in Java known as ‘Huis Tjitrap’, where the grandmother of the owners grew up and which was known for its A-list gatherings. It also combines elements from a black and white house where they lived for many years in Singapore.
