Perfect for groups of couples or two small families, Sea Fans provides ample opportunities for both socialising and private relaxation. All four of its ensuite, cheerfully-decorated bedrooms boast king-size beds, outdoor showers and covered terraces whose teak furniture faces tropical gardens, and all four are air-conditioned. Two are found in the main house (one with twin beds), and the others across both floors of a separate, rear pavilion – one whose upstairs chamber also contains a kitchenette.
When everyone’s ready, they could gather in the oh-so-Caribbean ‘great room’ – an open-plan behemoth which unites the modern, superbly-equipped kitchen and its island-bar stools, a dining table and the L-shaped lounge area. Earthy tones and the cathedral-style pitched ceiling ensure an airy, relaxed feeling. Spread out around this space, groups can plan trips to Savannah Bay, Spanish Town, Gorda Peak or The Baths, all of them in easy driving distance.
Then again, you might just choose to spend the day outside – and why not? At the villa’s front is a large swimming pool and its huge, sea-facing deck, with shaded tables and sofas as well as several sunbeds. A few steps beyond that are more lovely gardens beneath lofty palm trees, and then you’re on Mahoe Bay. This white-sand wonder is one of Virgin Gorda’s finest shores, and its turquoise, reef-protected waters are gentle and ripe for snorkelling or diving.
