Aided by a complimentary golf buggy, you’re only a quick whizz from the Sports Club’s gym and spa, from the sumptuous sandy beach, from the kids’ club and from the Jack Nicklaus-designed championship golf course – whose 15th tee your home overlooks.

Watersports like canoeing and paddle boarding, eight tennis courts and restaurants ranging from Mediterranean-style to a seaside poke grill are also available – simply ask our concierge team for details of the daily resort fees – as is a shared swimming pool just opposite. All that, and it’s just a 15-minute drive to the airport.

Such a range of distractions make comfort very important, and Hualalai Resort Fairway Villa 104D specialises in that. Soft, soothing hues dominate its open-plan living and dining room. To one end is a stellar kitchen crammed with appliances, while sliding doors open onto a balcony whose table and barbecue allows for outdoor meals, perhaps over sunset. Its sofas, meanwhile, positively encourage siestas. Back inside, tiled flooring keeps things cool and locally-made crafts hang on walls to lend an artisan, homely feel below lofty ceilings.

A king-sized bed awaits tired parents in the master suite, as does an office area and the big bathroom with its long tub. Also ensuite, the children’s room’s bed can be converted into twins if needed.
