Family-friendly Round House offers a charming, playful retake on classic Caribbean design. Spread across two levels, it has the quintessential wide verandas and lofty cathedral ceilings, but also rocking chairs, custom-made seashell chandeliers and an outdoor spiral staircase.

The villa additionally impresses with its setting. Positioned on a hillside, it affords wonderful ocean and golf course views from various al fresco settings: exuberant tropical gardens, a pretty heated pool flanked by sunbathing areas, gazebos for lounging and dining – the latter an unusual circular affair which lends Round House its name – and a wide, shaded terrace whose white wicker sofas tend to be popular come cocktail hour.

Inside, through sets of French windows, the semi-circular living room’s three sofas, 55” TV and black-granite bar set an indulgent tone. As for the seven ensuite, air-conditioned bedrooms, each of these has lit dressing-table mirrors and handsome marble bathrooms with walk-in showers; the balconied master suite also throws in a whirlpool bathtub. To aid parents, three bedrooms interconnect and two may be set up as twins.
