In crowning the knoll of its name, Villa Little Hill commands fantastic views. From its curving, covered 100-foot veranda, guests can gaze over forests and mountains, over the enclosing Tryall Club resort’s championship golf course and towards the beckoning Caribbean Sea. The villa’s large tropical grounds are similarly scenic, as is its perfectly-circular pool. We’ll forgive you for being distracted by it while holding tournaments on the private tennis court, though with a spectator gallery allowing for partisan support the rest of your group might not!

Inside, Villa Little Hill’s polished parquet floors, antique furniture, fine china and gold-gilded mirrors create a manor-house feel. Yet a cheerful Caribbean vibe also pervades, courtesy of high cathedral ceilings and colourful artworks. As almost every room – including a focal lounge and bar area – opens onto that terrace, sunlight and gentle trade wind breezes are another constant. All four ensuite bedrooms boast air-conditioning and fans, plus a flatscreen television and comfy robes.

Various outdoor seating areas allow for al fresco meals (a Caribbean rite of passage!) and chilled drinks prepared by the exceptional private chef. He’s part of Villa Little Hill’s dedicated staff, as are housekeepers and a butler ready to attend every need. Three golf carts are provided to access that golf course, as well as the Tryall estate’s yoga classes, afternoon teas, croquet pitch, kayaking and snorkelling off a sandy beach. Alternatively, Montego Bay’s shops and Dunn’s River Falls are within easy driving distance.
