Perched on a quiet beach in Lamai, this five-bedroom gem sits on a unique site of giant granite boulders – which the architect has ingeniously incorporated into the design. Baan Hinta has an ultra-luxe and natural feel; think dark wood, a lofty peaked roof and dramatic ensuite bathrooms built around the rock formations.

The double-height lounge is a stunning space, while the relaxation sala is the ideal place to retreat to for quiet reading sessions. An open-plan kitchen comes with everything needed to whip up your favourite dishes and a huge wooden dining table can seat 20 guests. There’s an oceanfront infinity pool and a smart terrace – sink into one of the plush poolside day beds with a zesty cocktail in hand and watch the palm trees gently swaying in the breeze. At night, a projector turns the space into the ultimate outdoor cinema.

The five ensuite bedrooms are soothing and spacious. Two of the double bedrooms can be reached down the stairs from the living area and have a shared terrace. On the lower level, there are two further double rooms, including the master, which has direct access to the tranquil sandy beach. Kids haven’t been overlooked either; a children’s bedroom with a glass viewing wall to the pool allows them to see underwater and feel as though they’re in their own aquarium.

A villa manager will be on hand throughout your stay to arrange any special extras for you, like private chef-prepared dinners on the beach, and you’ll have use of watersports equipment including a sea kayak and paddleboard.
