The 'twin' to the fabulous Villa Gris, this enchanting three-bedroom villa, Villa Marcou, is also proudly owned by Ridley Scott and his family. Sharing many of the same features but with a unique personality, Villa Marcou has been lovingly decorated in a fresh, contemporary style to create a delightful hideaway for up to six guests. Seamlessly blending modern and current French design, it highlights original features as showstopping accents in a truly charming setting.

Mas des Infermières winery surrounds the villa with lush, green vineyards and manicured gardens. Since 1992, the famous director Ridley Scott and his family have owned it. They aim to return to the traditions of French wine-making, creating an estate where classical methods sit easily alongside modern techniques. Guests are welcome to explore the estate, learn more about the process, and sample some of the superb vintages the vineyards have produced. A short trip to the local village of Oppède-le-Vieux allows you to stock up on fresh bread and locally-made cheeses – the perfect accompaniment to a bottle of crisp white or fruity red wine.

Back at the villa, you'll find a spacious, welcoming interior that leads effortlessly to a sunny terrace and a beautifully manicured garden. Al fresco dining is the order of the day, shaded by parasols and pergolas dripping with purple wisteria flowers in the spring. The indoor living space is cool and comfortable, with pops of colour from carefully-selected artwork accenting neutral tones. The kitchen is sleek and fitted with the latest appliances, while the dining room is just right for a more intimate gathering.

Two tranquil bedrooms offer two king-size beds, while the final can be made into a twin or king bedroom - whatever suits the needs of your group. Each bedroom comes with an attractive ensuite fitted with the finest fixtures and elegant marble tiles. A small gate connects Villa Marcou to Villa Gris, but the two villas can be rented separately.

Villa Marcou has its own heated pool and gorgeous gardens filled with lavender and flowers that will inspire you to break out the watercolours and try to capture that fleeting essence of Provence on canvas. Villa Marcou is a triumph of Provençal elegance surrounded by the truly breathtaking countryside in all its glory.
