The five-bedroom villa is set into a palm tree-dotted hillside and covers several floors. You have access to a communal pool and palapa-covered living area on the beach, with restaurants and shops also close by.

A family enjoying this tropical escape will find a choice of relaxed spaces for fun gatherings, with ocean views a perfect backdrop. Traditional Mexican style, that includes features such as hand-crafted textiles and unique folk art, mixes with contemporary chic for a welcoming feel throughout.

This atmosphere is especially felt under the charming wood beams of the open-plan living/dining space with kitchen. Cook as a familiar way to unwind in the fully-equipped kitchen. Or let the cook treat you to some Mexican cuisine, twice a day if you wish.

Doors in this sociable area open straight out onto the terrace for al fresco meals grilled on the barbecue and sunset drinks. The highlight is of course the heated infinity pool. With a stunning water feature dotted by two soaring palm trees that act to frame the dreamy ocean views.

The five ensuite bedrooms also have either sea or garden views. There's a king-size bed in four of the bedrooms, with the fifth being great for children as it has two queen-size beds. Several have outdoor space for peaceful morning scenes. One of the ensuites is particularly decadent and has almost an ancient Greek or Roman feel, with pillars and arches crowning the indulgently deep bathtub.
