This extraordinary villa is a charming retreat in the ancient capital of the Mayan culture. Casa Napa sits within an exclusive resort on a private bay in Tulum, with the majesty of the Mexican landscape surrounding it and the blue waters of the Caribbean lapping at the white sandy beach. Taking its inspiration from this region's historic and natural wonders, it's a seven-bedroomed hideaway bound to enthral up to 14 guests.

The Tulum region is awash with fabulous Mayan ruins and temples. Once the most important port on the coast for this complex and advanced culture, today it offers a wealth of exciting activities and things to see and do. Snorkel in the cenotes deep in the jungles of Riviera Maya, or try adrenaline sports such as kitesurfing or ziplining. If you're here in winter, look out from your balcony for the pods of whales that drift majestically past on their annual migration.

From the use of authentic Tzalam wood and local stone to the wealth of local art on display in every room, Casa Napa captures the essence of the Riviera Maya. The gated entrance takes you into an inner courtyard filled with trees and native plants. The villa’s contemporary exterior leads into a sublime interior, where floor-to-ceiling glass doors and glass-edged balconies remove any sense of separation from the dazzling white sand beach in front. The living space is open and inviting, merging seamlessly with the dining area and balcony.

The seven bedrooms are all king-sized, with exceptional views of the ocean and their own ensuites. Subtle touches such as the traditional tile patterns tie in every aspect of the villa with the culture that has inspired it. These are blended with modern amenities and restful, mindfully chosen colourways that echo the region's wild beauty.

Take the stairs up to the roof, and you'll discover one of Casa Napa's little gems – a rooftop swimming pool and bar, just the place for a swim under the stars. Alternatively, an infinity pool runs the length of the lower terrace, or take a few short steps across the beach and go wild swimming in the ocean. Dine al fresco with the sunset as your backdrop, or lie back and soak up the view. Casa Napa is a dream escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
